Privacy policy.

We collect the minimum we need to run the studio and the website. Here's exactly what, why, and how — in plain English.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to do business with you:

  • Bookings — name, email, phone, requested service, date and time.
  • Academy — name, email, and the courses you've purchased.
  • Contact form — name, email, and the message you sent.
  • Website analytics — anonymous aggregate data: pages visited, country, device type. No personal identification.

We do not collect: your location, your photos, your contacts, anything stored on your device, or any health information.

Why we collect it

Booking data is used to schedule and remind you about your appointment, and to recognise returning clients so we can tailor your visit.

Academy data is used to grant you access to the lessons you paid for and to email you about future course updates.

Contact-form data is used to answer your message and nothing else. We don't add you to a marketing list without explicit consent.

SMS / text messaging

If you provide your mobile number, we may send you SMS messages related to your bookings — appointment reminders, confirmations, and the occasional walk-in availability alert.

We do not share, sell, rent, or lease mobile numbers or SMS consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Your phone number stays with us and the SMS provider that delivers the message (Twilio) — and is used only to communicate with you about your service at AM Barber Studio.

Message frequency varies based on your bookings. Expect roughly 1–4 messages per appointment (reminder, confirm, follow-up). Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

To stop receiving SMS messages, reply STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or email us at book@ambarberstudiosd.com.

Who we share it with

We share your data with a small list of trusted providers:

  • Vercel — hosts this website.
  • Zoho Mail — hosts our business email and sends you booking confirmations.
  • The Cut App — handles barber-specific booking links when you click "Book with [barber]".
  • Stripe — processes course payments. We never see or store your full card number.

We do not sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Cookies

This site uses two kinds of cookies:

  • Session cookie — used while the site is in private preview to remember that you've unlocked it. Expires in 30 days.
  • Academy access cookie — used to keep you logged in after a course purchase.

We don't use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or session-replay tools.

How long we keep it

Booking records: 24 months after your last appointment, then permanently deleted.

Academy enrolment: as long as the course exists.

Contact-form messages: 12 months from receipt, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us to: see what data we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, delete it entirely, or stop using it for marketing. Just email us — we typically respond inside 48 hours.

If you're a California resident, the CCPA gives you these rights formally. If you're in the EU, GDPR. We honour both standards globally for all our clients.

Security

The website runs over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated server-side. Payment data is handled by Stripe, who is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Our internal accounts (email, hosting, payments) are protected with two-factor authentication.

No system is 100 % secure. If we ever detect a breach affecting your data we'll notify you by email within 72 hours of confirmation.
